Minimal-risk AI
Minimal-risk AI covers everything not prohibited, high-risk or subject to transparency duties — for example spam filters or AI in video games. It carries no mandatory obligations under the EU AI Act.
The vast majority of AI systems fall here. The Act encourages, but does not require, voluntary codes of conduct. Note that AI-literacy (Article 4) still applies broadly regardless of tier.
