Human oversight
Article 14 requires high-risk AI systems to be designed so that natural persons can effectively oversee them — understanding the system, monitoring its operation, interpreting outputs, and intervening or stopping it.
Oversight measures must be built into the system by the provider and operationalised by the deployer, who assigns competent, trained people with the authority to act. It is the safeguard against automation bias.
